“Pick of the Week” is a home I’ve recently toured in person which I believe makes for a great buy based on its status as a Great Home Design in a Great Location for a Great Price!
I think sometimes it just comes down to a vibe in a house. That’s what really got me when I toured this one yesterday. Something about it just felt good. The current owners have done a significant amount of upgrades to the home including seismic work , upgrades to the electrical and plumbing, and a new kitchen and bath. A lot of that sort of stuff is not immediately perceptible to the eye for a lot of prospective buyers, but it’s certainly something you look for when you get into the details. One thing that definitely caught my eye is how there is so much of 1906 still preserved in this home. The period details seem to make it burst with charm, and at this price point you’ll be really lucky to find so much, both inside and out, as you’ll find in this home. Outdoors you’ll find a modestly sloping yard with terraced spaces and a small detached studio space, for the writer or artist in you perhaps. There is also a chicken coop complete with chickens that I’m told are jointly-tended by an agreement with a neighbor. The ambience in the back yard is very quiet and pleasant with both sun and shade spots and mature trees all around. And underneath the home is a large garage space that has enough room for a workshop inside as well as a space for a small car. It’s clear that restoring this home has been a labor of love for the current owners, whom I’m told bought the home with a renovation loan in 2009. And it’s clear they did some great upgrades. You can see for yourself if you’d like during their open house on Sunday, or you can contact me for a private showing! Definitely a neat one, worth checking out!
