Check out this wonderful Victorian charmer in West Oakland. Easy access to the West Oakland BART, and located in one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in the area. Room to expand in the large basement area here too. Great chance to get into the quickly rising West Oakland scene!
Check out this charmer! Built in 1916 with great period details nicely intact. Great location within easy access of Fruitvale BART station and other public transit options. Nice sized yard with a detached garage. Looks like one that’ll attract a lot of attention, but also looks like a great one to restore.
There is quite a storied history of this home in Oakland’s Hillcrest Estates, and if the fame of Cooperstown, NY means anything to you then that part of the story adds a whole bunch to the lore. But the home on its own is really an amazing local treasure. Built in 1980, this home was designed by the renowned architect Aaron Green whose resume includes his collaboration on 40 of master architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s projects. He was an associate architect for the Marin Civic Center and was Frank Lloyd Wright’s west coast representative for his firm Taliesin Associated Architects. What you’ll see here is an incredible custom home of over 5000sf set on a 2.66 acre lot with a gated entrance, tennis court, swimming pool, expansive bay views and a design based on a central axis that will dazzle any visitor. Please click through and look at the rest of the pictures and prepare to be amazed at this wonderful Oakland home whose legacy is truly legendary.
What a wonderful Spanish Mediterranean-style home, with all sorts of charming elements of the classic style yet built in 1994. Amazing tile work, exposed beam interior architecture, copper light fixtures, extraordinary attention to details in ornamentation that all seems to blend the ubiquitous craftsman elements found in the area with the wonderful flair of the Mediterranean seaside home. Living spaces covering indoor and outdoors flow back and forth where the home easily and gracefully welcomes the refreshing bay breeze to fill the home. Just an outstanding execution of the concept in a fantastic Rockridge location.
Having looked at dozens of homes in Piedmont Pines, and having been a fan of it for years, I can say one of the reasons it continues to charm and mesmerize me is when I see homes like this one. This Oakland hills neighborhood is a serene oasis on its own, within steps of some of the most amazing urban regional parks one can find anywhere. There are bay views on the west side and valley views on the east side. It’s a nature lover’s paradise, no doubt. With this home you’ll find what appears to be an Eichler in the sky. A very large (over 3400sf) Eichler-esque home with exposed beams and large geometric windows, and an open flow between rooms— but this one is on a hillside with lovely views. Take some time and really check this one out. It’s a mid-century gem of a home that’ll stand the test of time for many decades to come.
Hillcrest Estates is without question one of my favorite neighborhoods in Oakland. Why? Well, let’s start with the minimum lot size of 1 acre. This particular home sits on a 1.63 acre lot with bay views and hosts a wonderful mid-century 5bd/4ba single level home with over 3000sf, Pool? Yep. Gorgeous park-like setting? Yep. Quiet and serene; elegant and homey; welcoming to guests yet oasis-like? All yep. Just a wonderful estate. And considering the median (yes median) in Palo Alto is $1M higher than this home’s list price, it ought to give anyone shopping in this price range pause.
If you’re ready to fall in love click through the link in the picture and look at the rest of them. Or better yet, go tour this home just on the east side of Dimond Park. It’s such a lovely home both inside and out, and the charm is only exceeded by its comfiness. Great 3bd/2.5ba layout with lots of extra space, a big lot of over 6200sf, a detached 2-car garage, and wonderfully artistic updating throughout while preserving period details of the 1931 design. Great one!
This 1911 brown shingle in Adams Point just makes me happy! It’s in a great location where you can walk to all sorts of restaurants, Lake Merritt, Fairyland, BART, Uptown, downtown, etc. It’s spacious too, almost 22oosf with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It’s got a nice-sized and level 5200sf, totally usable lot with a detached 2-car garage. And finally, it just overflows with period charm from its gleaming hardwood to its elegant trim, its diamond paned windows to its wonderful rear sunroom and more! Great home, well worth checking out!
Just a super charmer here! Easy walking distance to the great restaurants and transportation options available in the Temescal and overflowing with period details and extra space! Cute backyard with a detached garage, gleaming hardwood, large kitchen with a breakfast nook, and a great big finished basement for entertaining! You’ll love it. Great one to check out!
This is a lovely mid-century home (exactly mid-century since it was built in 1950) set in a wonderfully serene location that is still within walking distance to Montclair Village. I think it really calls out to those who are looking at what this price range buys in Berkeley or simply in a condo in SF. The comparison is stark. Nicely updated and well-designed to take advantage of the 5000sf lot where a large elevated patio space is right out front, the home has a nice 3bd/2ba layout with a garage and welcomes its residents and visitors with a charming shroud of mature trees. Nice one!
Looks like you’ll find a true oasis in this lovely home in the Laurel neighborhood! Built in 1939 with over 2100sf and setup with two kitchens and living areas and sitting on a meticulously landscaped 6700sf lot, this home definitely has the elements of a “gem.” Great indoor/outdoor combination for enjoying the gorgeous Oakland weather and lots of space to spread out. Lots of ways you can make this home fit your lifestyle, and a great one to check out!
Right up in the heart of north Oakland, in what’s traditionally been called the Bushrod neighborhood, this home stands out as a lovely home for the primary occupant, but what’s also great about it is how its lower level has an in-law unit. So for those of you looking for this type of setup— maybe those considering a duplex— in this neighborhood, this one is a very nice option. Great little back yard too! Nice one to check out.
Yep it’s the classic A-frame, Tahoe-style! And this one is within walking distance to Montclair Village. Sweet design with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Built for admiring and enjoying the serenity of the Oakland hills. Lovely valley views from two floors of this home as well as from the lot itself. It’s a charmer built in 1976 that’s awaiting the next chapter in its life.
You’re going to want to be watching Toler Heights! If you’re a view-seeker, this neighborhood has them and the renovations are multiplying along the streets of these hills. This charmer was built in 1927, but it’s had a major modern restoration. Lots of space in this 4bd/3ba home with a very large 6250sf lot as well! Definitely one to check out!
Turn of the century neighborhood with Victorians, Edwardians and craftsmans here. Once again, we’re seeing here the rough cut version of what can (and will) be. Tons of period charm, convenient north Oakland location, priced in a range where investors will likely compete to make it a rehab project. We’ve been watching the evolution of so many neighborhoods over these recent years, and this one is one of them.
2bd/2ba home with a double garage, built in 1900 in the rapidly developing north Oakland neighborhood of McClymonds. You’re looking for a way in, and here is one. Consider the difference between renting and buying. Wouldn’t it be nice to not have your home sold out from under you? That’s one difference between renting and buying. We will help you find a way in.
Updated 1923 craftsman 2/1 with a 5000sf lot, listed under $400k. Just think about it. When we read about the obscene prices for housing in the bay area we have to acknowledge the history of neighborhoods evolving. This neighborhood has seen nearly 100 years of evolution. It’s shined before. Look at how this home shines now, particularly for a price point that’s less than half the median in SF, nearly 20% of the median in Palo Alto.
Yes, yes… I had to include two photos for this one because this home in the Oakland hills really fits closer to a luxury retreat than simply a home. Sitting on a half acre lot with some views to the bay and city lights this gorgeous home includes 5 bedrooms and 5 full baths with an in-law AND a separate guest cottage, also a waterfall, spa, sauna, etc. It just seems to have it all. Built in 1989 in the Italianate style, it’ll entice and enchant you as you flip through the photos. Better yet, let’s go check it out in person! A beauty!
Let it be known that 9 times out of 10 I am going to be a fan of a home in Oakland that has a big lot. There’s nothing like having a nice helping of square footage in your yard. And this one really hits the mark because it’s actually almost 2 acres! And yes, it has a barn and is already set up for your horses. Spacious 5bd/2.5ba home looks great and feels like a home you’d find dozens of miles away from here. Charming and beautiful piece of land with a great house!
It’s the full Rockridge experience here! Lovely 1911 Edwardian with gorgeous period details located right in the heart of the district where one can easily walk to all that the College Avenue corridor has to offer. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, nice-sized back yard, garage and more! Great one to check out!
This home is really the whole package. It has all the style and charm of an updated 1927 craftsman that actually has a good-sized yard, a garage, a plus room, an unfinished basement AND as so many homeowners demand, it has a very close proximity to public transportation (McArthur BART). Look at this one through and through. It really hits all the marks!
Really nice opportunity to get into upper Laurel at a price point that’s much lower than the surrounding area. Good to view this as a condo alternative, as it’s a pretty compact footprint. But it’s got a cute little yard and it has a great location for walking to the restaurants and shops in Laurel. Nice one!
