“Pick of the Week” is a home I’ve recently toured in person which I believe makes for a great buy based on its status as a Great Home Design in a Great Location for a Great Price!
I’m such a fan of this home. This is the prime version of an investor flip. Done with great care the renovation of this home just shines like a freshly minted coin. It’s a 1924 craftsman bungalow with absolutely excellent period details that were kindly preserved and accentuated in this home. The kitchen remodel is very modern, but yet feels like it perfectly fits a 90 year old home. Same can be said of the remodels of the bathrooms. The floors are gorgeous. The built-ins beautiful. The home’s vital systems are upgraded and new. Out back is a large detached garage that is plumbed with a half bath of its own, plus it’s partially finished and would make for an excellent bonus room or studio. Note also how the lot this home sits on is over 6200sf and mostly level, so it’s a very usable piece of land as well. Nice lawn area, plenty of room for urban gardening, nice patio areas both near the home and beyond the garage. Note also that in addition to this detached garage this home has a single car attached garage in the front. So there’s lots and lots of extra space here adding to the over 1400sf of living space in this 3bd/1.5ba home. Located just off the southwest side of Maxwell Park in Fairfax, this home is yet another in this wave of renovations pushing into these neighborhoods like a domino effect. So nice to see it reaching into Fairfax with its numerous craftsman and Mediterranean bungalows from the early 20th century. Wonderful neighborhoods through here, all long overdue for this wave to reach them. Glad to see it myself. Truly a great example of what an investor flip SHOULD be. Great home to check out!
