First off, you just don’t see a lot of homes come on the market in this super charming Cleveland Heights neighborhood near Lake Merritt. So that alone caught my eye. But after clicking through the images and getting a feel for it I could tell right away this one was a gem to check out. It’s just beautiful, inside and out, and it has a wonderful sort of entertainer’s paradise for a backyard too! Yet another well updated and maintained 1918 craftsman in a very convenient location, it’s easy to give this one a very high grade.

This is a super-stylishly remodeled and spacious mid-century home in the Montclair hills that seems to evoke a lot of fun in a serene atmosphere. 4bd/2ba with just under 2400sf plus a 2-car garage, this home offers lots of room for a growing family in a quiet and tranquil neighborhood that’s an excellent long term investment. The stylish updates just make it as easy as can be too, where you can see for yourself that your weekend home projects can be minimal if you choose— which is music to many a new homeowner’s ears!

This West Oakland Victorian just has it all. It’s a 4bd/2ba with over 1800sf, a garage, a nice but manageable backyard, and really great updates! Add that you’re just a short walk to the West Oakland BART station and you know you’ve got some excellent long term value here too. The Victorians in West Oakland have always been a gem, and nowadays the rate of their return to glory has accelerated to near Renaissance level. If you’re interested in this area it’s a great time to invest for the long term.

I’m really liking this charming 1912 Edwardian in one of the most sought after neighborhoods where renovations are coming in rapid succession. Great big yard, nice detached studio, garage, great period details including the box beam ceilings you see in the pic above. 3bd/2ba with over 1300sf in one of the most convenient neighborhoods in the east bay.

This is a lovely mid-century home (exactly mid-century since it was built in 1950) set in a wonderfully serene location that is still within walking distance to Montclair Village. I think it really calls out to those who are looking at what this price range buys in Berkeley or simply in a condo in SF. The comparison is stark. Nicely updated and well-designed to take advantage of the 5000sf lot where a large elevated patio space is right out front, the home has a nice 3bd/2ba layout with a garage and welcomes its residents and visitors with a charming shroud of mature trees. Nice one!

Looks like you’ll find a true oasis in this lovely home in the Laurel neighborhood! Built in 1939 with over 2100sf and setup with two kitchens and living areas and sitting on a meticulously landscaped 6700sf lot, this home definitely has the elements of a “gem.” Great indoor/outdoor combination for enjoying the gorgeous Oakland weather and lots of space to spread out. Lots of ways you can make this home fit your lifestyle, and a great one to check out!

Right up in the heart of north Oakland, in what’s traditionally been called the Bushrod neighborhood, this home stands out as a lovely home for the primary occupant, but what’s also great about it is how its lower level has an in-law unit. So for those of you looking for this type of setup— maybe those considering a duplex— in this neighborhood, this one is a very nice option. Great little back yard too! Nice one to check out.

This home is really the whole package. It has all the style and charm of an updated 1927 craftsman that actually has a good-sized yard, a garage, a plus room, an unfinished basement AND as so many homeowners demand, it has a very close proximity to public transportation (McArthur BART). Look at this one through and through. It really hits all the marks!

Check out this lovely remodel of a 1901 Victorian-style in the ever desirable NOBE neighborhood of Oakland! Measuring out to 1677sf and sitting on a 3162sf lot this one has been polished up and repurposed for its next century. Beautiful hardwood floors, high ceilings, built-ins, etc.— all good stuff preserving the period charm— and just a short walk or bike ride to lots of cool stuff on San Pablo Ave!

This 1959 3bd/3ba has undergone a stylish remodel and offers almost 2700sf of living space in the charming Oakmore neighborhood in the Oakland hills. Lots of high end finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms, lots of space for recreation and gardening. Sweet location in one of Oakland’s premier neighborhoods and having the appearance of a new home practically. Looks really great!

Really cool Lincoln Highlands view home built in 1957 just has that modern jazz era mid-century vibe to it. Spacious 2-story layout covers almost 2300sf with 3bd/2.5ba and sits on a 9300sf lot. Enjoy views from the living area, or from the lower level patio/deck, or from the lower level recreation room. The home has lots of space to spread out. Great location and open Sunday to tour.

Hey! It’s a 1974 A-frame cabin in the Montclair hills! Clearly one for the fan of the A-frame, it looks like this 1300sf, 2bd/1.5ba home is completely original in every way. And for those of us who recall this style of mountain home in the Tahoe area in particular, this design brings back fond memories. If you’re handy yourself, it looks like you’ll need to bring a few tools. Otherwise you’ll likely want to size it up with a qualified craftsman. But wow, it just seems like such a fun and unique property in a great location and for a pretty workable price point.

Lovin’ this one for its design and its location. All these lovely period details in this 1932 3bd/1.5ba in one of Oakland’s premier neighborhoods, Crocker Highlands. Noted to be a “fixer,” the lack of updating is definitely reflected in the price. We definitely recommend a thorough inspection of all homes in consideration of purchase, but this one gets lots of points for its potential. What a charmer!

Style, pizazz, charm, sophistication, and more! These are the words that come to mind first when I think of this home. I just love it! Built in 1926, this Tudor-stle home has over 1600sf of living space, 2bd/2ba, 2-car garage, and sits on a 5400sf lot. Flip through the pictures and check out the elegant period details and the excellent updates for yourself. Great one! Will be open this coming Sunday to tour.

This one made me go back and look a second and third time through its pictures. It’s just a lovely Edwardian-era home built in 1906— a year that is pretty famous around these parts— and it just looks like a great layout with lots of space and lovely views from its perch. Nicely updated and definitely spacious with its 4bd/3.5ba and over 2000sf of living space. The off street parking solution is in the back yard, and you may end up changing that a little so you have a back garden area. But overall, what a neat place!

No doubt some of you are thinking where he heck is Ivy Hill? And those of you who do know recognize right away what a great location it is with its quick and easy access to Lake Merritt and Oakland’s bustling downtown & uptown nightlife. Yet look at how much home this is! Great big 4bd/2ba with nearly 1700sf, plus a huge basement garage, plus a lovely terraced yard! There is really so much to see here in this classic 1923 craftsman. Check it out! Click pic for MLS Listing.

The more you flip through the pictures of this one the more you’ll love it. It’s just so nice. The first impression that comes to mind is how spacious everything is, both inside and out. There’s room to spread out here in this gorgeous 1937 Mediterranean style in yet another classic Oakland neighborhood: Redwood Heights. Great big master suite with a big bathing area and large walk-in closet (so rare in the older homes). That and so much more! Click pic for MLS Listing.

Let’s not forget that Oakland has gorgeous mountain living, too! For those of you who aren’t familiar, please check out the Oakland hills above Highway 13. And please take particular note of a neighborhood called Piedmont Pines. This mid-century classic has the serene and peaceful setting you pine for when you seek that oasis away from the city. And of course, here in this location the city is just a quick ride down the hill. Beautiful charmer with ample space and nice updates. Well worth a look! Click pic for MLS Listing.

Hard to really capture the architectural grace of this one in just one photograph. This is one of our local gems designed by famed architect Clarence W.W. Mayhew, built in 1958 and illustrating his influence on the California single-level ranch home. Giant floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the back garden. And with a design that captures natural light from all different angles the home is a light and bright labyrinth of rooms with a pleasing mid-century geometric omnipresence. Wonderful home sitting on an over 9000sf lot in a lovely neighborhood. Don’t miss this one!
