Well, gosh… it’s so big, and it’s in such a fantastically convenient location, and it’s super cool in its concept, in its updating, and in its possibilities! It’s hard to look away, you might even say. Built out of a former church, this home adds another storyline to the wave of renovations taking place all over Oakland. Over 3800sf of living space here! 4bd/2.5ba including an au pair/in-law quarters. Look at the entertainment possibilities. Look at the uniqueness of the concept. It’s really something and a really great representative of how we can repurpose our community. I’m a fan!
This one is really cool. Brand new, built in 2016, this home’s mission is to capture the Victorian vibe of the neighborhood in a modern context. And I think they’ve done really well with it. The basic stats are it’s a 3bd/2.5ba with 1550sf located just a few blocks from the West Oakland BART station. The long term investment value here is tremendous, and in the short term your chance to get into this extremely convenient location to practically everything looks pretty darn reasonable especially compared with such digs in San Francisco. My advice is to give it some real consideration.
This one is a super charmer! This lovely mid-century mountain home in the Montclair hills really captures the vibe of living high above the clouds, but just minutes from town. Soaring views make it an entertainer’s dream house and the separate au pair/studio unit adds immensely to its appeal as a family home. You’ll find lovely updates to the kitchen and baths, warm and pleasing wood lines and textures, and great places to hang out outside as well in the nearly quarter acre lot.
Part of the incredible wave of renovations occurring all over Oakland, this one in Highland Terrace is an amazing standout. This spacious, over 3000sf, Victorian was built in 1895 and currently boasts 5bd/3ba, including two master suites. 5600sf lot, garage, view deck and a very stylish remodel. Great one to check out in this rapidly developing neighborhood!
This one is really stunning. First off, you’re really going to love this home’s Haddon Hill location with its amazing views of downtown Oakland and the Lake Merritt area. Then you can’t help but fall in love with this stylish and spacious 1923 Mediterranean gem with great updates and an in-law space on the lower floor. Just a great one!
Very spacious home with just under 3400sf and located in the Oakland hills neighborhood of Oakmore with views. Built in 1978 and generally setup on a vertically oriented footprint, you’ll find lots of room for an extended family and you’ll love the centrally located neighborhood with easy access to lots of great stuff in Oakland!
If you’re ready to fall in love click through the link in the picture and look at the rest of them. Or better yet, go tour this home just on the east side of Dimond Park. It’s such a lovely home both inside and out, and the charm is only exceeded by its comfiness. Great 3bd/2.5ba layout with lots of extra space, a big lot of over 6200sf, a detached 2-car garage, and wonderfully artistic updating throughout while preserving period details of the 1931 design. Great one!
This 1911 brown shingle in Adams Point just makes me happy! It’s in a great location where you can walk to all sorts of restaurants, Lake Merritt, Fairyland, BART, Uptown, downtown, etc. It’s spacious too, almost 22oosf with 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It’s got a nice-sized and level 5200sf, totally usable lot with a detached 2-car garage. And finally, it just overflows with period charm from its gleaming hardwood to its elegant trim, its diamond paned windows to its wonderful rear sunroom and more! Great home, well worth checking out!
Just a super charmer here! Easy walking distance to the great restaurants and transportation options available in the Temescal and overflowing with period details and extra space! Cute backyard with a detached garage, gleaming hardwood, large kitchen with a breakfast nook, and a great big finished basement for entertaining! You’ll love it. Great one to check out!
Let it be known that 9 times out of 10 I am going to be a fan of a home in Oakland that has a big lot. There’s nothing like having a nice helping of square footage in your yard. And this one really hits the mark because it’s actually almost 2 acres! And yes, it has a barn and is already set up for your horses. Spacious 5bd/2.5ba home looks great and feels like a home you’d find dozens of miles away from here. Charming and beautiful piece of land with a great house!
It’s the full Rockridge experience here! Lovely 1911 Edwardian with gorgeous period details located right in the heart of the district where one can easily walk to all that the College Avenue corridor has to offer. 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, nice-sized back yard, garage and more! Great one to check out!
Outstanding location here on Harbord with this classic 1937 3bd/2ba with a spacious 1719sf and sitting on nearly a quarter acre lot. Just beautiful! Note the oasis of the back garden and then pan out a bit and consider how convenient this location is to so much including Rockridge and Berkeley, BART and the freeways, yet you’ll listen to the trees and the birds when you wake up here. One of my favorite Oakland neighborhoods!
Another brand new gem by the venerable local architecture firm Baran Studio. If you don’t know them, click the link and check out their designs and ethics. They’re great believers in both style and energy efficiency and they’ve done some great work in Oakland. This one’s no exception with its spacious 1900sf of living space, 3bd/2.5ba plus a garage and a charming sitting area outside. Quick and easy access by pedal or foot power to MacArthur BART, too!
Right in the heart of Temescal (with easy walking access to Rockridge, too) is this lovely 1901 Edwardian style 3bd/2.5ba home with over 1700sf and sitting on a gorgeous lot of 4170sf. The backyard alone is an amazing amenity in this home with its lovely mature trees and charming deck and sitting areas, but this one is another wonderful remodel of a classic home. Spacious and in a fantastic location— well worth a look!
Come on San Francisco people! We know what you’re searching for. And you know you’re not finding this sort of home in SF for a price anywhere near this one’s price. Fully remodeled 1916 home in the Edwardian style with 3bd/2ba and over 1750sf of living space located just a short walk away from the MacArthur BART station and all the fun places to play in Temescal. Did you know the train ride from MacArthur station to Embarcadero is 17 minutes? Sweet one!
Hey, nice to see one in my own neighborhood pop up! And wow, what a lovely example of the neighborhood this one is. It’s a craftsman 3bd/1.5ba built in 1920 with almost 1700sf of living space plus a big yard and a 2-car garage. Absolutely beautiful preservation of the craftsman period details, lovely updated kitchen and bath, and just great both indoors and outdoors. Open Sat & Sun of the next two coming weekends. Check it out!
Located in the Glen Highlands neighborhood just between Upper Rockridge and Montclair, this 1940 3bd/3ba over 1900sf home overflows with charm, and its views from the kitchen alone make it a keeper. Great location that’s not far to the Montclair Village shops and restaurants and just a quick ride downhill to the Rockridge BART. Open this Sunday for a tour!
This is one of those where you have to have imagination on the potential. You first have to note that the home sits in one of the most coveted neighborhoods in the entire east bay. Then you have to acknowledge that homes of this square footage and lot size in this neighborhood are selling in the middle one million dollar range these days. And only after those two are accepted should you look through the pictures and ultimately walk through the home. A little over 1500sf, 3bd/1ba sitting on a 4000sf lot, built in 1926 in a Tudor-style (with some attic potential) and also has a partial basement. Very intriguing investment opportunity.
I’m just such a fan of this era of architecture in Oakland. The period details are stunning, and I actually remember walking through the home back in late 2012 just after it was renovated. I loved it then and I still love it now. Spacious both inside and out, and brimming with upscale finishes, the home sits just a short walk from the cute commercial district in Glenview. So it’s a little bit of a walker’s paradise. Casual carpool is also very close by. Lovely and renovated charmer built in 1920.
Some homes just make you say yes right away. As I flip through listings sometimes you wonder if the photos are just advertising the staging furniture, and sometimes you see that the home itself by far is the star of the show. And this one is one of those. Drive through Crocker Highlands and you’ll see what a magical gem it is with its stunning variety of homes with gorgeous landscaping and mature trees. This home is more than just a home, it’s an opportunity. Great beauty in one of Oakland’s most coveted neighborhoods. Click pic for MLS Listing.
Style and charm with an outstanding location for the “walk-able lifestyle.” This 1922 3bd/2.5ba home has wonderful craftsman woodwork and trim with an expansive 2-story floor plan of over 1900sf. A sweet backyard and detached garage add to the real livability of this home where more often than you’d imagine you’ll just find yourself strolling down the beautiful street to the Lakeshore shops and restaurants just a minute or two’s walk away.
Not that often that I choose a home built in the late 70s, but this one definitely gets the nod. Beginning with its gorgeous setting in one of Oakland’s most tranquil and beautiful neighborhoods, Piedmont Pines, the hillside location with its expansive bay and city views is without question a winner. The overwhelming elements of the home are “wood and windows” as you’ll see when you click through the pics. Just a lovely 4bd/3ba home in a great spot!
For location alone this one is worth a look with its easy access to Lake Merritt, Lakeshore and Grand Avenues, and of course downtown. But add in that it’s such a charming 1912 2bd/1ba with a separate 1bd/1ba unit downstairs (that’s already occupied, by the way) the home just exudes value. Great period details, sweet back garden area, and a great vibe!
